what makes a good presentation

May 18th, 2008 by sk8er in Uncategorized · No Comments

What does make a good presentation?  I will be explaining what i think makes a good presentation.  I think  that when you talk clearly it will be a good presentation.  It will be a good presentation if you have many facts and pictures.  i think it would be a good presentation if you put a little humor in it to get thee audience’s attention.

I also think that it would be bad to have too much iknformation because you will bore your audience.  The next time you have to present something i think you should follow these things.  I will try my best to do these things the next time I present something. That is what I think makes a good presentation.

2 important goals

May 18th, 2008 by sk8er in Uncategorized · No Comments

The two goals that I am working hard to accomplish are to be a professional skater and to be successful in life.  I think that everyone should have some goals.  You have to work hard to be successful.  I’m not sure if everyone wants to become a professional skater, but I do.  I am trying really hard to accomplish these goals.

My first and most important goal to me is to be successful in life.  I am working really hard to do that.  I am trying my best in school.  I am trying to be friendly.  I think this goal will be very hard to accomplish.  I am going to have to work very hard and not be lazy.  I think this should be everyone’s goal.

My second goal is to be a professional skater.  I really like skating so I want to get good at it.  I am going to have to practice a lot if I want to accomplish this goal.  I might have to endure a lot of pain because you can fall pretty hard. I work hard on this goal because I love doing it.     Those are my two most important goals.  I hope I accomplish them.  These goals will make me a better person.  I think that everyone should be successful in life.  I am going to work my hardest to accomplish these goals.

6th grade & 8th grade

May 18th, 2008 by sk8er in Uncategorized · No Comments

I think everyone thinks that 6th grade is the scariest year in middle school.  In 8th grade things are different though.  In 8th grade you know more people and you know your way around school.  I think everyone felt the way I did in the 6th grade.  In the following paragraphs I will be comparing and contrasting 6th grade and 8th grade.

In the 6th grade I was a little nervous to meet my teachers, in like manner, so was 8th grade.  In 8th grade I made new friends, in like fashion, also in 6th grade.  In 6th grade there were bullies, in like manner, so was 8th grade.  In 6th grade I didn’t get into any fights, in like fashion, also in 8th grade.  In 8th grade I got good grades, in like manner, in 6th grade.

In 8th grade I wasn’t nervous on the first day of school, on the other hand, in 6th grade I was really nervous.  In 6th grade my mom was a teacher at school, on the other hand, in 8th grade my mom was the assistant principal.  In 6th grade I didn’t have many friends, but in the 8th grade I have a lot of friends.  In 8th grade I fool around a lot, on the other hand, in 6th grade I was kind of quiet.  In 8th grade I am a skater, but in 6th grade I wasn’t.

There were a lot of interesting things that happened in 8th grade and in 6th grade.  I didn’t really like 6th grade as much as I do 8th.  The 8th grade is the best year of my middle school life because I had a lot more friends and it was really fun.  I don’t want 8th grade year to end because I will have to face another year like 6th grade next year.  That is what I think about my 6th and 8th grade years.

GERALD
ERIN
Erin and Gerald are interesting student at Untalan Middle School.  I chose to write about them because I don’t know that much about them.  Well the most obvious thiung about them is that eri9n is a girl and gerald is a boy.  Erin and Gerald are both in Mrs.carino’screative writing class, but Gerald is 7th grade and Erin is 8th grade.  In the following paragraohs i will be telling you more about them.

Erin and Gerald both like to talk to people.  Gerald comes to school for friends, in like fashion Erin does to.  Erin get A’s and B’s in school, and Gerald does to.  Erin and Gerald both don’t know what they want to be when they grow up.  Gerald was born on Guam, likewise was Gerlad.

Gerlads talent is playing guitar; however, Erins talent is playing the keyboard.  Erin’s favorite subject is Social Studies, on the contrary, Gerald’s favorite subject is math.  Erin wants to visit Europe, on the other hand, Gerald wants to visit Japan.  Erins hobby is talking, but Geralds hobby is sleeping.  Gerald skateboards, on the other hand, Erin does not.

Erin and Gerald are interesting people to learn about.  I think they would be good friends.  I think they are people you can trust.  You should get to know them.  Erin and Gerlad have many similarities and many differences.  I want to get to know them better.

Journal #19

April 1st, 2008 by sk8er in Uncategorized · No Comments

When I was researching my project first, I had to go on Google and type what I was researching, which are lions.  Then, I picked the websites that I thought had the best information.  Next, I picked outsome information that I could use on my report.  Lastly, I used all the information that I used in my research report.  Then, I made the rferences page that had the authors name, the website, the copyright year and the website title.   That is how i did my research.

I found a lot of interesting information on a lot of the websites.  I found out that there are many crossbreeds of the lion and other big cats.  There are the ligers, tigons, leopons, jagilons, and more.  I also learned that the female lion is the one that does almost all the hunting.  I also learned that there are many lions in prides.

The difficulties I had on my research was finding the author and copyright information.  I also had difficulties picking out the information to use.  My last difficulty was trying to find the right website.  Those are the only difficulties that I overcame during my research.  That is the things about my research.

Cyber bullying

April 1st, 2008 by sk8er in Uncategorized · No Comments

I am writing about cyber-bullying.    I am also writing about the effects of cyber-bullying, how it can be prevented, and what cyber-bullying is.  I got my information from documents that my teacher gave me.  This is how I feel about cyber bullying.
Cyber-bullying is when another person writes something bad about you in a message or bulletein.  Cyber-bullying occurs in many ways.  Some being by a message, or by a post.  Cyber-bullying can hurt people.  They can get emotionally depressed or in some cases make them commit suicide.
Cyber-bullying can have many effects.  Like Ryan, it could make you commit suicide.  It can make you emotionally depressed.  You could also lose some of your friends.      It can also make you go mental.
Cyber-bullying can be prevented by making laws to prohibit it.  Parents can watch what their kids are doing and what other kids are sending them.  The government could put an age limit for using websites like Myspace where cyber-bullying happens.
The most intresting thing I learned was that some people actually commite suicide because of cyber-bullying.  I learned that the government is trying to do something about cyber-bullying.  They are trying to make laws to prohibit cyber-bullying.  I learned about the effects of cyber-bullying.  Some people commit suicide, or get emotionally depressed.

I learned that glass can be recycled.  I learned that plastic bags can be recycled.  I also learned that if cars run cleaner than it helps the invironment because the cars let out less carbon dioxide.  I learned that Recycle City uses corn starch packaging which dissolves in water.

Using the handhelds were very fun.  I learned a lot of new things about it.  Like beaming to other handhelds.  I learned how to use graffiti.  I also learned that you can put games in the handhelds, make quizzes, and how to hotsync on the handhelds.

I think it can be better if we learned to use the sd cards.  so that we can learn how to load information into the handhelds.

I would want you to watch this movie.  It is a really good classic movie.  The book won the Newberry Award four times!  I think its a good movie.  You would think it is too if you watched it.

The movie Outsiders is about a boy named Ponyboy, who is in a gang called the Greasers.  The Greasers are poor kids who put grease on there hair, thats why their called Greasers.  The enemy of the Greasers are the Socs, which is a gang of rich kids who have mustangs.  This movie is about how to deal with your problems and friendship.  The journey of the movie begins while Ponyboy and his best friend Johnny are in the park.  Then they get jumped by a couple of Socs. Johnny then stabbs a Soc to save Ponyboy. They got scared of being put in an electric chair by the cops for man slaughter, so they run away.  I would tell you more about the movie, but I don’t want to spoil it for you.  So I suggest you watch it.

Journal Entry #17

I have Mew Years resolutions, do you?  New Years resolutions are good to have.  They could build your self esteem, help you stop bad habits, or make you more responsible.  I am writing about my New Years resolutions, and how they will affect me and my surroundings.      My first New Years resolution is to get organized.  I can never find something I am looking for right away becase I don’t know where it is at.  I will start putting things where they belong and take the time to put it in nicely.  It will make my room, my bag, and my binder looking nice and easier to find things.     My second New Years resolution is to be responsible.  I always misplace things and I don’t take good care of my things.  I just leave it lying around anywhere.  I will start taking care of my things and my pets.  When I get more responsible my parents won’t always have to worry about things like feeding the dog or doing my home work.  It will help me to become more mature.

My third New Years resolution is to start spending my money wisely.  I don’t always want to rely on my parents to get me things or always ask them for money.  I will start buying things that I need not things that I want just because it looks cool or everyone has it.  I will start asking myself, do I really need this.  It will help me later onj in life.

That is just a few of my New Years resoulutions.  You should start making a list of your New Years resoulutions.  You should try your best to accomplish them.  I hope I acoomplish my New Years resolutions.  Good luck to you on your New Years resolutions.
